Surefire M300A Mini Scout Light
The Surefire M300A Mini Scout light is a great option for those looking for a small but effective light setup for their rifle. The light features a 110 lumen output that will run for 1.3 hours on one 123a battery. The overall length of the unit is 4 inches and the weight is one 4.5 ounces making this a very lightweight and compact setup. The light is also offered in both Black and Dark Earth color schemes and comes with two switch options; a pressure pad or tail cap. The retail for the light is $345 which could be considered overly expensive but considering Surefire’s no hassle warranty and the proven durability under harsh conditions, its worth the investment.
I have been using the light for 7 months now and it has seen around 2500 rounds as well as abuse from hitting the ground and barricades with no issue. The throw has been effective out to around 75 yards with a very wide area to further identify targets. For anything beyond 50 yards I highly recommend going with the M600 which features the 200 lumen lamp. Overall the M300A Mini Scout Light has performed beyond all of my expectations without issue. For anyone looking for a compact weapon light with the budget, the M300A is well worth consideration.
