Blue Force Gear Ten Speed Magazine Pouches

BFG10spd

For someone in need of a multipurpose magazine pouch, the Blue Force Gear (BFG) Ten Speed line of magazine pouches are some to consider. They are constructed of lightweight 500d cordura with an elastic front. The Ten Speed also uses integrated attachment straps for weaving through pals webbing. Due to elastic construction, these pouches can not only secure a magazine, but also grenades, lights, first aid materials and just about anything else that will fit. BFG offers them in a general pistol magazine size, as well as 2 rifle sizes (AR15 and .308) with configurations from a single to triple shingle and a chest rig. As with all Blue Force Gear products, the Ten Speed line is made in the USA.

I have been using a BFG Ten Speed triple AR15 magazine shingle for a few months now with good results. The retention is good enough to securely hold a loaded magazine during jumping, running and dropping to prone. While the retention is good now, I do fear though that the elastic will wear out fairly soon, as there are already stretch marks forming where the edges of the magazines ride. I do not store the pouches loaded and do not recommend doing so. In terms of innovation and utility, I do think that Blue Force Gear created a great product. In my opinion the best part about the pouch is that it will lay flat when not in use making it an extremely low profile addition to your kit. I can see myself eventually purchasing a couple more single pouches for general storage of 1 more magazine or other item when I need it.
