Leatherman Wingman: Its got your back!
I recently picked up a Leatherman Wingman for a new EDC multitool. In a way, its the popular Wave’s little brother. The Wingman features a locking blade as well as scissors that can be accessed from the outside as well as the standard pliers. The pliers in the Wingman though do feature something new, a spring action. Inside, you’ll find large phillips and slotted screwdrivers, a package opener, bottle opener and small file. Leatherman also added a pocket clip to the outside. On top of all of that, one can be had for around $30.
For the past month, this tool has quickly lived up to its name. It truly has been my Wingman for handling a variety of tasks. The scissors more than anything else have made this tool worth carrying. The screwdrivers are sized really well and fit most everything I’ve encountered. The package opener was a great addition to this tool. It performs as advertized to deal with tape and saves your blade from un-necessary dulling. The bottle opener has come in handy as a backup and can double as a can opener in a pinch. The only tool I’ve yet to use is the mini file, but I’m sure ill find a use for it eventually. For someone looking for a multitool that features just enough tools to get through the day at a very affordable price point, I highly recommend the Leatherman Wingman.
